Quick Update

Early this morning, Will and Nikki took this picture of our sweetheart, wearing his Bee Happy outfit (on the 'back side', it says "Life Is Good!').

Will just called to tell us that the sedated MRI is complete and Matthew did just fine. A cath is not necessary because the doctors were able to see what they need to see on the MRI. Dr. Breitbart, Matthew's cardiologist at Children's Hospital in Boston, is very optimistic that he will have a very successful Glenn procedure.

All of this is very good news!!
We are disappointed to learn that the left side of Matthew's heart has not developed enough for bi-ventricular function. However, many HLHS kids do very well after the Glenn and we are trusting that Matthew will as well.

I believe the next few days will allow time for the family to explore Boston a bit and just relax!

On Friday they have an appt. with Dr. Baird, Matthew's surgeon. I will post more news as I get it from Will and Nikki.

Again, thank you to all our friends and family for your love and support.

  2. Saw a Facebook update from Heart Parents that Matthew's surgery was moved to Friday? Praying for the sweet little guy! Chase also had a CRAZY hard time getting off the o2 after his pre-Glenn cath and again after his Glenn. Turns out the nurses were giving him oxycodone for pain and it was causing his sats to drop. Once we made them quit and use Tylenol instead, he kept his sats up and we were outta there! :)

Praying for Friday. Please keep us posted!
