When Is My Family Coming Home?

Our family feels like we are on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride at Disney! First of all, I'd like to say 'thank you' to all of our family and friends who are sending their love, support and prayers. A special thank-you to all of our "heart family" who have been so supportive.

Matthew is scheduled to come home from Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola tomorrow. His blood work indicated that he had an infection (airplanes--closed in places that harbor germs!! The up-side is that they do get us from point A to point B!). After treatment with antibiotics, our little guy seems to be 'on the mend' and is ready to come home and meet his big brother Samson!

Matthew's dad Will came by our house this afternoon for his first visit with Samson since December 15th. It was a grand reunion in the front yard--Samson definitely didn't forget his dad!

Samson did tell me that he is really anxious to see his mom Nikki again. He really loves her! He's not quite sure about this 'Matthew person' he keeps hearing about but I'm pretty sure it will be love at first sight! The night they came home from Boston we brought one of Matthew's blankets home for Samson so he would become familiar with the scent of his new baby brother. He sniffed the blanket, jumped up and started licking me on the face! He was so excited because he smelled mom and dad and......well......poop!!!

Matthew has so many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who are all so very eager to see him--he's like a Rock Star!! He has many adoring fans!! Everyone is cheering from the sidelines and, hopefully, in a week or so, the introductions can begin.

Thank you all for the patience when we get behind in posting an update. I am sure that, once he gets settled at home, Matthew will have a lot to tell you about his trip back to the hospital of his birth!!
